Rosary means "crown of roses". Each time the rosary is prayed with devotion, the loving devotee crowns Our Lady with roses. And, since we are so fond of our Blessed Lady, we further remind ourselves of her gentle queenship by the twelve stars with which she is crowned in Rev 12:1: "and on her head a crown of twelve stars."
